This impressive company is now seeking a senior lawyer to join its Calgary office.   The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all legal affairs related to its Western based businesses.  This will include interacting with senior management, managing outside counsel and providing legal advice in connection with matters of strategic importance, business and project development and field operations. Reporting to the General Counsel (Canada), you will lead a legal team of 3 lawyers and one administrative assistant.  

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of business/commercial and regulatory law experience, ideally within the western Canada energy industry.  The ability to think strategically and make pragmatic and timely decisions will be needed for success in this position.  Leadership skill and management experience will be a definite asset as will a highly developed level of legal judgment and business acumen.
