Gowlings is looking for an experienced litigator to continue the development and
maintenance of Gowlings’ national advocacy precedents and model documents.
The successful candidate will work with our National Precedents Partner and others to
draft, update and maintain advocacy precedents and model documents; identify
precedent and model documents for development; co-ordinate specialist and peer review
of precedent and model documents; and participate in professional development
programs relating to advocacy drafting, precedents and model documents.
The position does not involve billable time commitments, and is dedicated entirely to the
creation of resources for the Firm’s litigation lawyers.
The successful candidate will have:
Superior drafting and organizational skills
At least 8 years experience in a litigation-based private practice, preferably at
a large firm
Experience in support of knowledge management or precedent initiatives
A commitment to plain English drafting
Strong interpersonal skills and initiative
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
While this position is a national position, the successful candidate will be located in either
our Toronto or Ottawa office.
