In 2012, it completed a major acquisition of Drug Trading and Medicine Shoppe Canada, representing over 1000 independent and franchise pharmacies operating in Ontario, Western and Atlantic Canada. With an established Legal Group of 6 lawyers in Montreal, this expansion has generated a need for legal counsel in Ontario. Located in Brampton, this position will report to the Vice President, Legal Affairs, in Montreal.
The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of corporate / commercial experience gained from private practice or in house. Experience in the health or retail sectors as well as familiarity with regulated environments will be seen as a strong asset in this highly regulated industry. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills and the ability to interact with senior executives is a must. As you will be the first lawyer in Ontario, the ability to work independently and to take a leadership role will be important.
