Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking a 2 – 5 year call litigation associate for our Yellowknife office.  Yellowknife offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant northern community in a collegial office of three lawyers, and plenty of hands-on experience.  We need someone primarily to assist with child protection work, as well as a variety of other civil litigation matters.  Our YK office operates quite independently, but with the support of our larger Vancouver office.  This support includes resources such as our library and staff, our dedicated research lawyers and our in-house CLE programs.

The ideal candidate will have litigation and courtroom experience, as well as the ability to work well on their own.  While mentoring and guidance will always be available, the nature of northern practice means that our senior litigators spend considerable time out of the office.   The successful candidate will be bright, practical and a flexible thinker; a sense of humour and an interest in being part of the community would be welcomed, as would an appreciation of issues facing northern communities.

This position is ideal for a self-starter who wants to experience the unique north in a small office and to run files on their own, while enjoying the support of a large, well-established firm.  If this challenge appeals to you, please contact Heather Frost, Director, Professional Development.  For more information on our firm, please visit
