Contract Type

Commencing operations in 2002, EnerCare Inc. (TSX:ECI), formerly The Consumers’ Water Heater Income Fund, owns a portfolio of approximately 1.2 million installed water heaters and other related assets, rented primarily to residential customers in Ontario. With the acquisition of Enbridge Electric Connections Inc., (now EnerCare Connections Inc.), this organization has also become the largest non-utility sub-metering business in Canada.

As the company expands, so too does its need for legal support. The legal department works closely with and provides support to all the major business groups within the organization. The work is varied and interesting, including dealing with financings, acquisitions, public company matters, regulatory matters, government relations issues and a wide range of commercial matters. This position will be located at its head office in Toronto and will report directly to the Senior Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Our client is seeking a lawyer with 2-3 years of corporate/commercial and securities experience gained at a major firm or corporation. Any experience with the OEB and CPA will be seen as a plus but not essential. Excellent drafting and analytical skills and business acumen is also required. In addition, you should have the ability to think through strategy and be dedicated and pragmatic.

This is an interesting opportunity with an organization that continues to expand.  You will have a broad range of work with the ability to deal directly with various business groups and outside counsel. The company is able to offer a competitive compensation package, challenging work and a friendly environment. If you are interested in hearing more about this opportunity, please contact our retained consultants, Lorene Nagata and Lesa Ong at NagataCONNEX Executive Legal Search.

As this is an exclusive campaign with NagataConnex Executive Legal Search, any resumes received from other sources will be forwarded to it.
