Legal Counsel - Compliance

The position of Legal Counsel - Compliance will report to the Associate General Counsel and provide legal services primarily in the Compliance area as well as advice related to Human Resources, IT and other areas as appropriate. The individual dispenses both proactive and reactive advice and counsel regarding applicable legal standards and practically assesses factual circumstances in light of such legal standards. This position selects, manages and directs outside counsel as needed. This position requires a cooperative working relationship with the business units it serves and other company counsel.
The successful candidate must be a lawyer in good standing with at least 5 years experience. Experience with corporate compliance programs, conducting internal investigations and general litigation would be considered an asset. This position will be of interest to individuals who have a knowledge of various compliance laws and regulations including The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and The Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act. Effective written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization is required.
