The Faculty of Law, which was established in 1974, currently has a student complement of approximately 330 JD students, 40 graduate students and 28 Faculty members house in a modern building with a first-class library. The Faculty prides itself on attracting students from across the country to participate in a legal education program that is highly student-centred and characterized by a uniquely supportive learning environment. While providing a well-rounded legal education, the Faculty is recognized for its strengths in legal theory, social justice, legal skills, clinical legal education, environmental law, co-op education and international learning opportunities.
Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the new Dean of the Faculty of Law will be a distinguished academic with a passion for excellence in research and teaching. Candidates will possess a demonstrated record of achievement in academic administration, communication, collaborative leadership and a willingness to engage in robust fundraising and alumni relations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to guide a collegial, innovative Faculty through the development and implementation of a new strategic plan, a fundamental curriculum and pedagogical review and explore opportunities for new programs.
